The night that belongs at the villa
Garda weeks have a rhythm — a boat day, a wine morning, a drive to Verona — and somewhere in the middle of them is an evening where nobody wants to get back in the car. That is the night a cook comes to you. It also works as the arrival night, when the flight has landed late and the fridge is empty, and as the one proper occasion in the week that deserves a laid table.
Who cooks
Three kinds of arrangement cover this lake. A Lombardy-wide in-villa business that builds custom menus and can add a sommelier or a bartender. A Verona and Lake Garda private-dining cook who works from two to twenty guests and can handle kosher and halal. And a villa agency that books local cooks into houses for traditional dinners, fine dining, barbecue or a pizza night. Between them, most villa weeks are covered. Private dining here is offered for parties of 2 to 20.
The cook is an independent local professional who prices their own work and answers for the food. We plan the evening with you, confirm the menu and the timing directly with them, and stay reachable if the plan moves — we do not run a kitchen.
What it costs, honestly
This is the one page on the lake where we have to say plainly that the number is not public. There is no Garda-specific published chef pricing we could find. The nearest measured comparison is Lake Como, where in-villa dining is quoted at roughly 85 to 180 EUR per person, and any Garda figure taken from it is an estimate rather than a quote.
Treat that as a planning bracket. What moves the real number is the menu and its ingredients, the headcount, how long the cook is with you, whether you need someone serving as well as cooking, and how far they travel to your address. We send the itemised quote before anything is held.
What to send with your dates
The address and which town it is near, the number sitting down, the time you want to eat, allergies and strong dislikes, whether this is a celebration, and a photograph of the kitchen if you have one. Also say if you want more than one night — a cook who is coming twice will plan the two menus together.
Peak-season Saturdays go first. Shoulder-month dates are far easier, and flexible dates always come back with more options.
The rest of the week
The natural pairing is a boat day and a chef dinner — see the boat tour from Sirmione or the sunset tour — with wine from the Lugana vineyards behind the house. If you would rather learn than be served, there is the cooking class. Everything for the lake is on the Lake Garda page, and villa dining in every other destination on private chefs.
