The dinner that belongs after a day on the water
Vilamoura runs on the marina. Most groups staying here spend at least one day out on a boat, and the evening that follows is reliably the one nobody wants to spend cleaning up, driving, or queuing for a table with a view of the same pontoons they left at five. A chef in the villa closes the day properly: you come back salted and tired, and dinner is already happening.
It works just as well as the arrival night — flights into Faro land late, the fridge is empty, and the alternative is a supermarket run at eleven — or as the one occasion in the week that deserves a proper table.
What it costs, honestly
There is no rate card for private chefs in Vilamoura, because none of the chefs working here publish one; every quote is built per menu and per party. We would rather explain how the number is reached than fabricate one.
A quote reflects the menu and its ingredients, the headcount, how long the chef is with you, whether you need serving staff, and travel to your address. Scale changes the answer more than anything else: a small terrace dinner and a thirtieth birthday are different jobs, and larger parties move from one chef to a catering team — the chefs covering this coast handle everything from intimate dinners to events of a hundred guests and more. If you want several nights rather than one, mention it in the first message, because some chefs work villa weeks with a minimum number of days.
The same chefs generally cover Vilamoura, Quinta do Lago, Vale do Lobo and the towns either side, so one request can cover more than one address if your group is split across apartments.
Details worth sending with your dates
The kitchen you actually have, the number sitting down, the time you want to eat, allergies and the strong dislikes, and whether this is a celebration or a quiet night in. Vilamoura apartments in particular vary wildly in what their kitchens can do, and a chef told the truth in advance plans a menu that works instead of one that has to be rescued.
Who cooks, and what we do
The chef is an independent local professional who prices their own work and answers for the food. Our part is the arranging: we take your details to chefs who are genuinely free on the date, confirm the menu and the timings directly with them, and stay reachable if the plan moves. We do not run a kitchen, and nothing is booked until you confirm.
Plan it with the rest of the week
The most common pairing is a boat day and a chef dinner: see the yacht charter from Vilamoura or the fishing charter from Vilamoura, and the private Algarve wine tour for the day you would rather be driven. Everything in the region sits on the Algarve destination page, villa dining elsewhere on the private chefs page, and arrivals on the Faro Airport transfer to Vilamoura.
Request availability with your dates, your address and how many are eating. Real chefs, real quotes, and no commitment until you say yes.
