The guide is the product
In this category, what you are buying is judgement. A canyon, a river section or a ferrata route is only as good as the person deciding whether today is the day for it, whether your group is right for it, and when to turn around. That is why several of the activities here are regulated professions in the countries we work in, with formal training, exams and registers behind the title, and internationally recognised equivalents at the top end.
Everything we arrange in this vertical is delivered by certified local professionals who hold the qualification their country requires. We plan the day with you, confirm the details directly with them, and stay your single contact — but the rope, the raft and the decision on the day belong to them.
Honest about difficulty
The single most useful thing we can do before you commit is describe the day accurately. Canyoning can mean a gentle descent with short jumps you may decline or a long, cold, committing route. A rafting section can be a float or a genuinely physical morning. A high route can be a walk with exposure or a technical objective that assumes you are already fit and acclimatised. We ask the operator what fitness and experience their route actually assumes, and we tell you, including when the answer is that your group should choose something else.
Season, water and weather
These days do not run year-round, and pretending otherwise ruins holidays. Water levels govern canyons and rivers, snow governs high ground well into early summer in some ranges, and a wet spell can turn a fine route into a non-starter. Alpine weather windows are short and change fast; island weather can deliver several seasons in one afternoon. Where a route is closed, a road over a pass is shut for the season, or a river is simply too low, we say so plainly rather than selling you a day that will disappoint.
Cancellation in this category is normally handled by the operator, with weather calls treated separately from ordinary cancellation terms. Those terms come to you in writing, from the company running your day.
What to expect from us
One message with your dates, your group and roughly what you have in mind. We come back with a short set of real options: who leads it, what the day involves, what fitness it assumes, what is included, what it costs and what happens if the conditions are wrong. You ask questions, change things, or say no. Nothing is booked until you confirm, and the day itself is led by the qualified local guide, not by us.
