Where you are going
Alta Badia is six villages on the southern side of the Sella massif — Corvara, Colfosco, La Villa, San Cassiano, Badia and La Val. From Venice Marco Polo, our working figure for the drive is roughly 180 to 200 km and about 2 hours 45 minutes to 3 hours 15 minutes — an estimate derived from the route rather than a published operator time, so read it as an approximation and expect a realistic figure from the driver for your specific date and village.
That last qualifier matters. The difference between Corvara and La Val at the end of a long flight is not trivial, and neither is a chalet address halfway up a side road in falling snow.
Car or coach
Cortina Express runs scheduled coaches from Venice Airport, Venice Mestre and Treviso not only to Cortina but on into Alta Badia, including Corvara, San Cassiano and La Villa. Timetables and fares sit behind its booking engine, so we check what genuinely runs on your date instead of quoting from memory. For a couple travelling light on a convenient day, the coach is a good answer.
A private car earns its money with families, ski bags, awkward flight times and addresses away from the village centres. Vehicles are priced by band: one company publishes sedan for 1 to 3 passengers, van for 4 to 8, minibus for 9 to 15, with coaches on request. Ski and board bags move groups up a band routinely.
No published fares, and why
Every transfer company researched for this destination quotes on request, and the shared shuttle does not publish a per-person fare. So we do not print a range. We take your flight details, party size and luggage to licensed local companies — among them Cortina Express, Dolomites Transfers, Steiner Touring, AlpinBus, NCC Val Gardena and Südtirol Transfer — and come back with a real figure.
Free baby seats and ski carriage are advertised as standard on these routes, and because seats are fitted before you land, ages and weights need to reach us with the request. Inbound flights are tracked, so a delay at Marco Polo means a rearranged pickup rather than a lost booking.
