The easiest arrival in the Algarve
Quinta do Lago is one of the shortest hops from Faro Airport, which makes the arrival almost trivial when it is arranged and needlessly stressful when it is not. The drive is about 20 km, priced by a published airport guide at a fixed €27 for a car carrying up to four passengers, and normally taking 20 to 25 minutes. Treat that figure as an indication rather than a quote: it comes from an airport information site rather than the companies themselves, and we confirm the real fare with a licensed driver for your date before you commit to anything.
What you are actually buying is the removal of the worst twenty minutes of a holiday: the queue at the rank with tired children, the negotiation about luggage, the driver who does not know which estate gate you need at eleven at night. Your name is on a board in arrivals, the boot is already big enough, and the address is already in the car.
How the pricing works
Transfers here are priced per vehicle, not per seat — the published bands run from about €27 to €65 for cars carrying up to four people, and roughly €35 to €76 for eight-seaters, across the main resort routes. Those bands come from the same unofficial guide, so we treat them as a planning range and get you a real quote. Vehicle sizes are the other half of the answer: cars take three or four passengers, minivans eight, and minibuses up to sixteen — golf bags and pushchairs change which of those you actually need, so tell us what is coming with you.
Children, seats and the law
Portuguese law requires proper child restraints for younger children, and the transfer companies on this route provide baby and child seats free of charge, in age bands. They are fitted before you land, which only works if you send ages and weights with the request. It is the single most-searched detail on Faro transfers and the one most likely to be forgotten until arrivals.
Who drives you
Legitimate transfer companies in Portugal hold RNAVT registration with the national travel-agency register, and the ones we work with here do. We do not own cars or employ drivers. We arrange the transfer, confirm it directly with a licensed company, and stay your contact if the flight moves.
Cancellation, honestly
Terms differ by company and we will always tell you which apply before you book: one operator on this route allows free cancellation up to 24 hours before pickup, another requires 48 hours and charges half the fare for a no-show. If your plans are genuinely uncertain, say so and we will steer you to the more forgiving terms.
While you are here
Most people booking this run are staying a week: see the private chef in Quinta do Lago for the arrival evening, the yacht charter from Vilamoura for the day on the water and the private Algarve wine tour for the day inland. Everything nearby is on the Algarve destination page; transfers in our other regions on the airport transfers page.
Request availability with your flight number, passenger count and the ages of any children, and we will come back with a real quote from a licensed local driver.
